This site, in addition to being a personal homepage, is a virtual meeting place and information center for my family. It contains a history of the Pretto family that spans several generations.
This page is dedicated to my parents Ernesto A. Pretto and Lilia Rivera de Pretto, who always encouraged me to succeed -- to my children-- to the memory of my ancestors who are mentioned in the history section of this page-- may they rest in peace -- to my extended family all over the world -- and to my children's children who through these pages may one day find their place in time. As such, may these pages stand as a tribute to all of them.
The historical information on my family published here comprises a compilation of records I have personally researched and compiled from various archives in Spain, Portugal, Amsterdam, Holland, St. Thomas, Danish West Indies (Virgin Islands), Panama, and the United States. This is an ongoing project and I hope to add more information in the future.
